The Bolivar Liberators entered Thursday night’s game with a gaudy state ranking and eye-popping season statistics.

The Helias Crusaders left Thursday night’s game as district champions.

The Crusaders got three touchdown runs from senior Greg Lorang and a stellar effort from their defense in a 27-13 win over the Liberators to claim the Class 4 District 12 championship at Adkins Stadium.

With the win, the Crusaders (6-4) will host District 11 runner-up Carthage (9-1, ranked No. 4) in a regional game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
