YOUR OPINION: Inconsistency on Prop. B criticized

Dear Editor,

I am appalled at your apparent lack of knowledge as to what is published in your paper.

On Sunday you published an opinion on Prop. B which I wholeheartly agree with. On that same day in your Sunday comic section you published what can only be described as an endorsement of the same proposition via the Mutts feature. I cannot understand how you can be so inconsistent.

Proposition B is not about humane treatment of dogs. It is about destroying the animal (food or otherwise) industry in this country. If you follow the money, Most of the support for this ill-conceived proposition is from states other than Missouri and by a very small minority of the people in those states.

I am a retired electrician who had as customers several responsible dog breeders. I can assure you that the circumstances put forth in the Mutts feature are in no way applicable to the responsible breeders and businsess people of Missouri. Let the current laws, passed by Missourians, to protect our animals be enforced.

Missouri does not need outside interests whose agendas do not match ours coming into Missouri and telling us what we need to do.
