Teen pleads not guilty to murder charge

MEXICO, Mo. (AP) - The 16-year-old son of a northeast Missouri truck driver accused of killing an Ohio drifter has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge and other counts alleging he played a role in the crime.

Jordan Harvey is charged as an adult in Audrain County with second-degree murder, kidnapping and felonious restraint. He entered his not-guilty plea this week as he seeks a new judge and trial venue.

Harvey's parents are charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and kidnapping in the death last December of 20-year-old James William Boyd McNeely.

Eight people are charged in the case.

Authorities say McNeely was killed in the Harveys' Laddonia home. His body was found inside a trailer leased by Harvey's father.
