KC museum director admits stealing funds

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The former executive director of the Airline History Museum in Kansas City has admitted stealing from the museum.

Paul D. Sloan of Belton was sentenced Monday to five years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to one count of stealing. He also was ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution.

The Kansas City Star reports that Sloan also was barred from handling money or fundraising for any not-for-profit groups for five years.

Cass County prosecutors say Sloan stole from the museum in 2007 and 2008. Sloan wrote checks, made withdrawals or asked for payments totaling more than $51,000 from bank accounts connected with the museum.

The museum is located at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport.

Once again a person of means gets no jail time.Just pay it back and keep the interest.As long as you steal from your boss it's ok. If you are unemployed and steal from a grocery store, you go to jail.What kind of system is this? Jack eeken
