Two issues in particular on Monday will capture the Jefferson City Council's focus - the city's surtax settlement with Cole County and a plan to potentially put a 4-cent increase of the city's lodging tax on the February 2011 ballot.
About a week ago, Cole County Collector Larry Vincent sent city officials a proposal designed to redistribute surtax funds that were incorrectly distributed among 13 entities because of a mistake made with the surtax formula in 1989.
