Diocese: Liturgy in Mass to change

Translation will more accurately reflect Latin meanings

Father Dan Merz, a nationally recognized expert in liturgy, will present workshops on upcoming changes to the New Roman Missal, which will be recorded for Catholic parishes to listen to in the months ahead.

New words are coming, but what they may bring is a deeper meaning to worship within the Catholic Church.

The English version of The New Roman Missal will more accurately reflect the Latin beginning the first Sunday of Advent 2011.

So far, information about the change has been directed at clergy and parishioners in leadership positions. But the Diocese of Jefferson City's religious education office wants to help inform and prepare everyone.
