Authorities: Search for juvenile continues

Six months ago, detainee fell or jumped into river

After six months, authorities haven't given up trying to find the body of a Jefferson City teenager who apparently jumped or fell from the Missouri River bridge while in custody of juvenile authorities.

Robert Nichols, 16, escaped May 14 from a northbound juvenile authority vehicle as it crossed the U.S. 54/63 bridge, taking him from the Prenger Juvenile Center to a Division of Youth Services (DYS) facility in Montgomery County. After escaping the vehicle, he jumped or fell into the swollen river.
