WASHINGTON (AP) - Mike Green scored a power-play goal 29 seconds into overtime to give the Washington Capitals a 3-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
It was Green's fourth goal of the season. Eric Fehr and Alexander Semin also scored for the Capitals, who moved ahead of Philadelphia into the Eastern Conference lead. Nicklas Backstrom had two assists.
Nikolay Zherdev and Ville Leino scored for Philadelphia, which had its six-game winning streak snapped. The Flyers haven't won seven in a row since January 2002.
Braden Holtby made his first NHL start in goal for the Capitals, stopping 23 shots for his second career win. The 21-year-old made his debut in relief Friday and won against Boston.
Philadelphia rookie Sergei Bobrovsky fell one game short in his attempt to tie the team record of seven straight wins by a first-year goalie. Bobrovsky entered tied for the NHL lead with eight wins.
Blues 2, Rangers 0
NEW YORK (AP) - Ty Conklin made 27 saves for his 15th NHL shutout, Alexander Steen scored twice and the surging St. Louis Blues stifled yet another opponent in beating New York for their seventh straight win.
Conklin, playing in his second game this season, looked every bit as good as No. 1 goalie Jaroslav Halak, who took the night off after beating Boston on Saturday in a shootout. St. Louis shut out the Rangers for the first time in 129 meetings.
It is the Blues' longest winning streak since they ran off nine straight from Oct. 15 to Nov. 5, 2002. St. Louis has allowed only six goals during this run, and posted four shutouts - the previous three by Halak.
Steen scored in the second period and added an empty-net goal with 3.9 seconds left.
Oilers 2, Blackhawks 1
CHICAGO (AP) - Kurtis Foster and Sam Gagner scored 14 seconds apart in the third period, and Edmonton rallied to beat Chicago.
Nikolai Khabibulin made 26 saves for Edmonton, which improved to 2-2-2 on the road this season and 4-23-3 in its last 30 games away from home dating to December 2009.
Both of the Oilers' road wins this season have been in Chicago against the defending Stanley Cup champions, who dropped to 4-6-0 at home. Edmonton defeated the Blackhawks 7-4 at the United Center on Oct. 29.
Ex-Oiler Fernando Pisani scored for Chicago, which got 24 saves from backup Corey Crawford in his fourth start and fifth game of the season.
Blackhawks star forward Marian Hossa returned after missing five games with a shoulder injury.
Ducks 5, Predators 4
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Ducks defenseman Paul Mara scored his first goal since February 2009 with 1.7 seconds left, and Anaheim beat the slumping Nashville Predators after blowing the lead four times.
Saku Koivu had two goals for Anaheim. Teemu Selanne added a goal and an assist, and Lubomir Visnovsky also scored. Jonas Hiller made 20 saves to help the Ducks win their third straight and send the Predators to their fifth consecutive loss.
Patric Hornqvist, Steve Sullivan, Cody Franson and Cal O'Reilly scored for Nashville.
