Branson honors veterans this week

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) — Branson is hosting a series of events this week honoring veterans.

Ernie Bradley, chairman of the Branson Veterans Task Force, says highlights will include a ceremony Friday for the Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

The Vietnam wall will be open to the public all week, but the ceremony Friday will include a speech by retired Command Sgt. Maj. Robert A. Marterella. Bradley said Martarella has several friends whose names are on the wall.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that the weeklong events will also include reunions, a parade and a veterans registry where participants can locate old friends.
