For the first three periods Tuesday night, the game between the Helias Crusaders and Bixby (Okla.) Spartans didn’t have a whole lot of excitement. Over the final two periods, it did. That’s right, five periods.
The Crusaders used some dead-eye 3-point shooting in overtime to sneak past the Spartans 61-59 in an opening round game of the Mike Kehoe Great 8 Classic at Fleming Fieldhouse.
“I was really proud of our guys’ resiliency,” Helias coach Josh Buffington said.
