The California Lady Pintos chose to play a sound fundamental game in facing Hermann's Shelby Winkelman in the Missouri National Guard Shootout on Monday at Fleming Fieldhouse in Jefferson City.

It turned out to be a winning decision, as the Lady Pintos captured a 61-56 victory over the Bearcats.

Winkelmann, a 5-9 senior who is on pace to score more than 3,000 points in her high-school career, had 33 on Monday, despite sitting out the final 4:13 of the third quarter after picking up her fourth foul.
