The Cole County Collector's Office will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 31 to accept tax payments.
Property and personal property tax bills must be paid or postmarked no later than Dec. 31 to avoid penalties and interest being applied to the bill. The delinquent charge is 9 percent in January and an additional 2 percent per month through September.
Payments can also be dropped off at the Court House Annex in the secured lock box on the front of the building.
If you are not on the tax rolls for 2010 in Cole County and need to be, you need to contact the Assessor's Office prior to Dec. 31.
If you plan to mail your payment, check with the post office to find out when the last pickup is to get a Dec. 31 post mark.
