Cole County firefighters responded this morning to a report of a structure fire at 3303 Rademan Lane, in a residential area off Frog Hollow Road.
Volunteers with the Cole County Fire Protection District reported seeing heavy smoke and flames visible as they reached the scene, around 7:30 a.m.
Occupants had evacuated the building safely before firefighters arrived, a caller who reported the blaze told police radio dispatchers.
Firefighters reported at 8:10 a.m. that they had brought the blaze under control, but stayed on the scene until they finished their work and investigation at around 9:45 a.m.
