Animal stem-cell surgery was performed in a clinic for the first time in Missouri last Friday.

Ellie, a 4-year-old Labrador Retriever, had developed signs of osteoarthritis and tendonitis in her elbow.

For a young dog, knee or elbow replacement was not the best option.
