Missouri volleyball team advances in NCAA tourney

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Missouri volleyball team is heading to the Sweet 16 for the second time in school history after winning a pair of matches over the weekend.

The Tigers started off with a 25-19, 17-25, 26-24, 26-28, 15-10 win Friday night over fifth-seeded Northern Iowa on the Panthers’ home court.

The Tigers then defeated Northwestern 25-13, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20 in Saturday’s second round.

Missouri (22-10) will play Duke (26-6) in the round of 16 at Penn State. The last time Missouri made the Sweet 16, the regional was also at Penn State.
