Thomas Eugene "Tom" Perkins, 70, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 19, 1951, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of the late Clifford Eugene and Jane Parker (Forgey) Perkins. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Catherine "BK" Hitz on November 20, 1976, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson City High School and attended Lincoln University. He dedicated his career to the sales industry, working as Sales Manager at JC Penny from 1978 until 1986, and then at Missouri Lottery until his retirement in 2008. Tom was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was also a member of the local Eagles Club, Aerie 2693. An avid sports fan, he was known to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou, and Notre Dame sports. Tom was a passionate, loyal and dedicated family man. He worked hard to provide for his family and support them in every way. He coached his two sons in various youth sports during their childhood. Tom was known to dote on his beautiful wife, BK, and made sure everyone knew how proud he was of her. He had a ton of friends who he treated like family, never met a stranger, and was truly the life of the party. Most importantly, Tom was devoted to his kids, grandkids, and family, who will miss him immensely. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, BK; sons, Thomas Jeremy Perkins (Anne Marie) and Jonathon Michael Perkins (Malorie); grandchildren, Charlotte, Thomas Jr., August, William and Brooks Perkins; brothers, Mark, Craig, and Tracy Perkins; half-sisters, Connie Wade and Janan Huntsberry (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lane. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with a prayer service beginning at 3:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Jeremy A. Secrist officiating. Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
