Susan Elizabeth Curtit Eidson, age 69, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo. She was born on December 31, 1952, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Connie and Clara (Nilges) Curtit. A resident of the central Missouri area for most of her life, Susie was a 1971 graduate of Linn High School. She attended both Victor Valley College in Victorville, Calif. and Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. She was a 1977 magna cum laude graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. She began her professional career with the Fulton State Hospital and later accepted a position as a Disability Determinations Counselor for the state of Missouri. She was proud to be involved with the Foster Grandparent Program as well as Capital City CASA, both volunteer organizations specializing in the support and advocation of our community's children, seniors and special needs individuals. To sum Susie up in just a few paragraphs would be an impossible feat. She was full of life and laughter, a truly unique and rare woman. She had a way of being everyone's favorite aunt and her sense of humor, compassion and ability to never take herself or life too seriously set her apart. She loved her pets and was relatable to people of all ages. Susie also loved crafting, sewing, quilting and made many special gifts for those she loved. She was the first to whip out the games at family functions and had standing reservations with her Bunco group. Susie made family vacations a top priority and delighted in trips to Florida, Colorado and Cancun. Most importantly, Susie was the absolute best Mom. She will be remembered for her witty, jovial personality, her acceptance of others, and her commitment to those she held most dear. Survivors include: her son, Joseph Eidson (Julia Gallagher) of Camp Hill, Pa.; brother, Jack Curtit (Mary) of Jefferson City, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Curtit; her sister, Judy Kerns; one brother-in-law, Larry Kerns; and one niece, Julie Kerns. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Memorial services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the Freeman Chapel.
