Ruth M. Wieland, 86, of Lone Elm, Mo., went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 13, 2022 peacefully at her home. She was born on May 8, 1935, the daughter of Ernest Theodore and Louise Alvina (Strobel) Bleich, at the family farm located on the Moniteau and Cole County line. Ruth was baptized at St PaulÆs Lutheran Church on June 2, 1935, and reaffirmed her faith in the Rite of Confirmation on April 10, 1949, at St PaulÆs Lutheran Church, California. She attended Johnson School near McGirk and graduated from California High School. On December 7, 1957, she was married to Eldred Walter Wieland. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm. Ruth was a farmerÆs wife and homemaker. She enjoyed the Christmas season with decorating her home and preparing snacks and cookies. During the warmer seasons she tended her garden that produced ample fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed the beauty of her flower gardens and raising chickens. Ruth always made sure the boys had a good lunch while in the field during planting season and harvest. You never left her table or tailgate hungry. She loved a good garage sale or auction. She enjoyed collecting dolls and miniature porcelain shoes. Ruth is survived by her children, Steven Wieland (Patricia Corbosiero) of Lone Elm, Linda Eidson of Boonville, Mark Wieland (Janelle) of Lone Elm, Kenneth Wieland (Lilly) of Lee's Summit and Daniel Wieland (Angela) of Bunceton; 12 grandchildren: Brett Wieland, Brandon Wieland (Krystin), Dustin Wieland (Phalon), Kristin Chancellor (Jonathan), Kayla Johnston (Dustin Leonard), Jared Johnston, Jessica Poulsen (Jordan), Morgan Armstrong (William), Lauren Wieland, Preston Wieland, Erin Wieland and Benjamin Wieland; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Bleich of California, Frederick Bleich (Darlene) of Lohman and Edward Bleich of California; two sisters, Martha Toellner of Warrensburg and Anna Bleich of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Nelda Bleich, Velma Strobel and Esther Strobel; a grandson: Sawyer Wieland; and three brothers-in-law: Lawrence Strobel, Edwin Strobel and Wilbur Toellner. Visitation for Ruth will be at Howard Funeral Home on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
