Gary Edward Struemph, 69, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022, at his home, unexpectedly. He was born on March 5, 1953, in Freeburg, Missouri, a son to the late Bernard "Bud" and Rosalyn "Rose" (Schroeder) Struemph. Gary leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Jane (Grafe) Struemph, whom he married on November 30, 1974, in Westphalia, Missouri. Gary was a 1971 graduate of Fatima High School. After their marriage, Gary and Nancy moved to Jefferson City, where they were lifelong members of Immaculate Conception Parish. Gary worked for the State of Missouri as a warehouse supervisor, working for nearly 38 years. He had a good sense of humor and liked to get a laugh from those around him. Gary enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, watching Cardinals baseball games, playing cards, gambling, relaxing, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids' sporting events and hanging out with them. He spent many hours in the backyard making sure their swimming pool was an inviting place for family and friends. He most recently took up gardening with his grandkids. Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Toni (Marty) Miller, and Kelly (Homer) Shrum; brother, Harry (Linda) Struemph; grandchildren, Miles, Oliver and Jillian Miller and Emma and Calvin Shrum; sister-in-law, Careen Struemph; and many members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Rose, and brother, Dave Struemph. Friends will be received on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception in Jefferson City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia, Missouri at 3:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund.
