Jo Ann Litty, 86, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on November 22, 1935, in Charleston, Missouri, daughter to the late Joseph C. and Betty (Boitnott) Washburn. On July 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to James "Jim" Marvin Litty, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2021. Jo Ann was a 1953 graduate of Steelville High School. She met her husband and life partner while attending school there. She spent most of her life taking care of her family, raising kids, and keeping her home in superb order. Jo Ann was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and attending various bluegrass and gospel festivals. She loved camping, playing Bridge with her girlfriends, and attending bible studies. She also loved McDonalds; she and her husband ate breakfast every morning at McDonalds regardless of where they were. Most of all, Jo Ann loved her family and friends. She will be missed dearly by those who were blessed to know her. Jo Ann is survived by her children, Chris (Lesa) Litty of New Bloomfield, and Debby (Bob) Anzalone of Fenton; grandchildren, Bethany (Deric) Brown and MaKayla (Josh) Newman; and great-grandchildren, Brynli, Kade, Haleigh, and Landon Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Betty, and beloved husband, Jim. Friends will be received on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private for the family at Steelville Cemetery.
