They had a very active and memorable role in raising her. She was raised in Glasgow, Scotland and lived there for many years where she graduated from Whitehill Secondary School. She was always extremely passionate about her Scottish heritage. It was during her time living in Glasgow that she met, Charles Robert "Bob" Moore, while he was stationed in Edinburgh with the United States Navy. They were married in Glasgow in 1961. She later moved to Jefferson City, Mo. to be closer to him, where they were married on May 15, 1976, and blessed with 31 years of marriage. During her time in central Missouri, Joan was employed as a nurse's aide at Memorial Community Hospital and later worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Human Resource Administrative Assistant. She retired from the Conservation Department to help with her grandchildren. Family was the most important aspect of her life and she always looked forward to quality time with them. Joan loved baking and cooking meals for family on occasions such as: Sunday dinners, holidays and birthday celebrations. Meals and laughter with family were her favorite times. She attended many school functions, sporting events, and school plays to support them. She loved to share their accomplishments with her friends with stories and photos. Her family will remember her work ethic, strong willed personality and giving nature. She was always thinking of others and loved lifting family and friends up with a thoughtful gift.
