Gerald Eugene Baysinger, 74, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at The Bluffs Nursing Home in Columbia, Mo. Gerald was born on April 5, 1948, in Ft Wayne, Ind., the son of Earl and Margie (James) Baysinger, who preceded her in death. On July 1, 1989 in Branson, Mo., he was united in marriage to Jenny Aguirre. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during Vietnam. Jerry retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a civilian after 21 years of service. His passion and love was being a musician and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed drawing, painting, working on race cars and attending Capital Speedway in Holts Summit. Survivors include: his wife, Jenny Baysinger; two daughters, Lorie Oppenheim and Tami Conner; one son, Harold Tame; one daughter-in-law, Melinda Baysinger; and seven grandchildren, Ian Baysinger, Elijah Baysinger, Alex Oppenheim, Logan Oppenheim, Josh Tame, Jacob Tame and Jessica Tame. He was preceded in death by his son, James Wesley Baysinger. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in New Bloomfield, Mo.
