Erin Nicole Gabathuler, 39, of Jefferson City, left her earthly home on Monday, August 15, 2022. She was born on September 21, 1982, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Lenis and Linda Kay (Oetting) Gabathuler. Erin attended Jefferson City High School and was a 2003 graduate of State Fair Community College in Sedalia where she obtained her degree in Horticulture. She worked for the Callaway County Ambulance District as an EMT from 2011 until 2018. Erin started her career with the Jefferson City Police Department on May 5, 2008, and currently served as the Communications Supervisor. Erin was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Holts Summit. Her passion for the first responder community was evident with her involvement as a board member for the Jefferson City Missouri Guns 'N Hoses and as a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #19 and the Holts Summit Fire Protection District. She shared her knowledge in many other ways including as a CPR Instructor with the American Heart Association. Erin was proud of those that served in the military and served as a volunteer and guardian for the Central Missouri Honor Flight. She enjoyed being outdoors, attending concerts and traveling but most of all just sharing life's adventures with people, especially her two nephews, who she thought were angels. Erin is survived by her parents, Lenis and Linda Kay Gabathuler of Holts Summit; brother: Jason Gabathuler (Jen) of Springfield and her charming nephews: Lucas and Louis. She is also survived by her extended families that she referred as the following: her Blue Family, the JCPD Family; her Gold Family, the Dispatch Family; her Red Family, the Fire Family; and the White Family, her Callaway EMS Family. Erin also considered the Bolden, Burks, Haslag, Karr and Payne families as part of her own. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Harry and Erline Gabathuler; maternal grandparents: Edward and Marjorie Oetting; uncles: Lester and Dean Gabathuler and aunt: Susan Hawk. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Capital West Christian Church. A celebration of Erin's life will follow services at the Capital West Christian Church Event Center. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Lucas and Louis Gabathuler Education Fund, JCMO Guns 'N Hoses, JCFOP Lodge #19, IAFF Local 671 or Central Missouri Honor Flight.
