Robert Howard "Bob" Kelley, 71, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at his home. He was born on March 25, 1951, in St. Charles, Missouri, a son to the late Logan and Doris (Boschert) Kelley Jr. Bob was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Shortly following graduation, he began his career at the Division of Employment Security for the State of Missouri. Bob dedicated 30 years of service to the division as a data operator until his retirement in 2001. In 2000, he and three business partners acquired the Welcome-Inn, which he helped operate until 2012. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was active in Boy Scouts. Bob was a very active member of his community. He volunteered for many events through the Jaycee's and became an Honorary Jaycee; he was especially involved during the Cole County Fair for many years. He enjoyed playing pool and darts. Bob served as the Tournament Director for the Central Missouri Dart Association for several years. He also enjoyed his annual trips to Las Vegas. Most of all, Bob loved his family. He gained nicknames from his nieces and nephews including "Uncle Buck" and "Bad Bob;" he loved them like they were his own. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. Bob is survived by his brother, Michael (Pam) Kelley of St. Charles; sister, Kimberly (Greg) Haller of Jefferson City; nieces and nephews, Heather Schulte, Marsha Green, Tiffany Buchta, Matt Haller, Michael Haller, Lindsay Kelley, and Nathan Haller; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Logan Kelley III. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
