Randy "Shorty" Voss, age 54, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He was born on June 6, 1967, in Columbia, son of Urban and Betty (Wansing) Voss. On September 23, 1989, in St. Anthony, Randy was united in marriage to Lisa Smith, who survives at their home. Randy's career as an autobody mechanic at Wally's Hot Rod Shop was his dream job. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Randy was the founder and lead singer of the band, Firecreek. He dedicated over 30 years to his passion for music, playing at countless venues around the central Missouri area. Randy was an encouraging music artist, always giving new musicians an opportunity to perform with his band. His love and talent for music was passed down to his son, Ryan Voss. In addition for his love of music, he also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Lisa Voss, he is also survived by his daughter, Jenna Voss; son, Ryan Voss; his little fishing buddy, grandson, Grady; mother, Betty Voss; mother-in-law, Juanita Prather; father-in-law, Paul Smith; four siblings, Linda Wieberg (Walter), Debbie Hurst (Jim), Carol Wieberg (Alvin), and Rick Voss (Paulette); sister-in-law, Janice Wieberg; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Urban Voss, and brother, Ron Voss. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
