Arthur William Rice

Arthur William Rice, 73, New Bloomfield, Mo., passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. Arthur was born on April 17, 1948, in Greenfield, Mass., the son of Floyd and Josephine (Lynch) Rice who preceded him in death. He served in the US Navy from 1966 -1971. On February 15, 1969, in Cheshire, Mass., he was united in marriage to Nancy Carol Burris. Art was a faithful member of the New Bloomfield Christian Church in New Bloomfield, Mo. and was also a member of the Central MO Homebuilders Association. He worked for Monsanto Corp, was a home builder, worked for the MO Public Service Commission as a regulatory engineer from 2008-2015, and also had his license for the state of Missouri professional engineers. Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Nancy Rice of the home; one brother, Allen Rice of Callaway, Va.; one sister, Barbara Dewey (Bill) of Locust Grove, Va. and several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at New Bloomfield Christian Church in New Bloomfield, Mo. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 at the church with Rev. Joe Gibson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Summit Memorial Park, Holts Summit, Mo.
