Tanna Rose (Riegel) Henson

Tanna Rose (Riegel) Henson, 48, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. She was born on July 30, 1972, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Albert Riegel and Dorothy (Buthod) Riegel-Phillips. She was united in marriage on May 12, 2000, to Jeff Henson. Tanna was a 1990 graduate of Helias Catholic High School and attended Lincoln University. She was employed with the Department of Social Services, Child Support Division for almost 30 years where she formed many close friendships. Tanna was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Peter Daughters of Isabella. She was also a PSR teacher at the church. Tanna was active in helping with fundraisers where she was the captain for her family's local Relay for Life team - Angels of Hope. She enjoyed playing bingo and pitch, going to demolition derbies with her dad, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, attending concerts and watching her kids play sports. She spent two decades running Brittney and Bailey all over the state to practices, soccer games and cheer competitions. She didn't miss a single one. She loved being outdoors, whether it was to fish, hunt or spend the day on the boat floating on a river. Tanna was always willing to help others, especially if that meant cooking a meal, being the first one on the cleanup crew or planning family vacations. She made family her top priority and her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Henson; children: Brittney Henson (Hunter Mahon) and Bailey Henson; mother: Dorothy Phillips (Marvin); father: Albert Riegel (Dixie); sister: Jennifer Moreland (Kyle); brother: Bruce Riegel; niece: Emily Salvini; nephews: Bryce Riegel, Grant Moreland and Gavin Moreland; and numerous other relatives and friends.
