Hattie B. Deaton, 94, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Mo. She was born on September 14, 1926, in King City, Mo., the daughter of Ernest P. Hutchcraft and Bertha (McMillen) Hutchcraft, both of whom preceded her in death. Hattie was united in marriage on April 28, 1946, in Troy, Kan. to Russell "Eldon" Deaton, whopreceded her in death on October 19, 2006. She was a homemaker. Hattie enjoyed raising dogs, farming, sewing and gardening. Survivors include one son, Orren Lee Deaton of Centertown, Mo.; two granddaughters, Amy Sneller and her husband Chris of Rocky Mount, Mo. and Angela Kliethermes and her husband Keith of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Billy Hutchcraft of Joplin, Mo.; one sister, Ethel Smith of Savannah, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Alfred Sommerer of Jefferson City, Mo. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Velma Jane Sommerer; infant son, Richard Deaton; five sisters and eight brothers. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the King City Cemetery in King City, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association c/o the funeral home.
