Martha Jane Padgett

Martha Jane Padgett, 83, of Holts Summit, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Care Connections home with her loving sons by her side. She was born on February 1, 1938, in Cedar City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Arthur and Geneva (Case) Neely. She was united in marriage to Clyde Padgett on February 2, 1957. She was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson City High School. In 1995 Martha retired from the Construction Industry Laborer's Welfare Fund after 36 years of service. She was then able to devote her time to taking care of her beloved grandchildren. Martha enjoyed reading, watching classic television programs, the Hallmark Channel and movies. Her greatest pleasure was hosting special breakfasts for her family and looked forward to them all being together. She will be greatly missed by all. Martha is survived by her sons: Kent Padgett (Mary) and Jeff Padgett (Jean); grandchildren, Blake Padgett (Abi), Tyler Padgett (Jenny Molyneaux), Savannah and Jacob Padgett; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Danica and Brock Padgett; nieces, Susan Mitts (Doug) and Laura Neely (John); nephew, Brian Neely (Marci); and precious friends, John and Tammy Mathews and Joyce Davison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Padgett, and brother, Gerald Neely. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Mathews officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Central Missouri Hospice.
