Mrs. Barbara Ann Andrews, age 82, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away peacefully Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. surrounded by family. Barbara was born on October 5, 1938, in New Madrid, Mo., a daughter of Eddie Enlow and Johnie Mae (McCoughlin) Enlow Gibson. She was married in 1970, to Vincent Leon Andrews, who preceded her in death in 1983. A resident of Jefferson City for the majority of her life, Barbara was employed as a clerk with the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement. She had an extremely caring personality so during her retirement she began a home daycare program to watch small children. She loved caring for children and ran the home daycare for 20 years until her health wouldn't allow her hectic schedule. Barbara loved her family deeply and what she truly cherished was being around family and friends. She looked forward to cooking at family barbeques because she knew her food would bring everyone together. Barbara will be remembered for her strong faith and being a Godly woman. She was saved at a young age, and she served as an usher and choir member at various churches until finding her way back to Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church until her health prevented her from going. Her compassion and willing to serve others led her to provide strong guidance to family and friends. Her motherly wit, strong faith and loving heart will live on in all those she touched in her life. She is survived by: one sister, Pamla (Enlow Gibson) Millens of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Mounett Andrews of St. Louis, Mo.; six children, Ernie Jean "Jeanie" Pepper (husband Dana) of Detroit, Michigan, Eric Comer (wife Irma) of Cedar Park, Texas, Cornell Andrews (wife Cynthia) of St. Louis, Mo., Cheryl Andrews Davis (husband George) of St. Louis, Mo., Terry Andrews of Jefferson City, Mo. and Cameron Andrews of Boonville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Erika Comer, Jessica Comer, Kirsten Andrews and Keana Andrews; her niece and nephews, Crystal Butler (husband Terrell), Terrance Andrews (wife Joi), Johntelle Millens, Bryant Millens, and Jeffery Millens Jr.; great-nieces and nephews, Evante', Hanna, Zaniyah, Kitai, Penelope, and Naziaya; a great-great niece, Ava; and a host of extended family and friends.
