Willie Wesley Slagle, 89, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, May 28, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Born July 14, 1931, in Liberty, Mo., he was the son of the late Troy R. Slagle and Pearl Luetta Luse Slagle. Willie was a graduate of Marshall High School. On October 4, 1953, he married Kay Smith who survives of the home. Willie and Kay moved to Jefferson City in 1969, where he served in the Adjutant General Office of the Missouri National Guard for over 40 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Kay; he is survived by two sons, Stephen W. Slagle (Pat) of Essex Junction, Vt. and Kenneth T. Slagle of Jefferson City; one grandson, Dustin Slagle; as well as other extended family. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Louise McRoberts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Burial with military rites will follow in Nelson Cemetery.
