Virginia F. Hibdon

Virginia F. Hibdon, 68, of Tipton, passed away, Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her home. She was born June 21, 1952, in Tipton, Mo., a daughter of Douglas and Alma (Combs) Peoples. On February 1, 1969, in Otterville, Mo., she married Carl R. Hibdon, who survives of the home. Virginia was a lifetime member of the Olive Branch Church near Syracuse. She was a 1970 graduate of Otterville High School. Virginia owned and operated a home cleaning business as well as working various other jobs. She enjoyed flowers, traveling, spending time at the lake, playing cards, and going dancing with her husband Carl. She also enjoyed getting together with her group of friends from high school as often as she could. Virginia loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Carl of 52 years, survivors include one son, Colin W. Hibdon of Syracuse; one daughter, Tisha L. Petree of Tipton; five grandchildren, Cassidy Hibdon, Morgan Renfro, Tucker Petree, Riley Petree, and Cade Petree; four great-grandchildren, Kaihle, Abel, Stella, and Ronan; one brother, Mitchel Peoples of Tipton; two sisters, Blenda OBrien of Tipton, and Dixie Reigel (Albert) of Jefferson City. Virginia was preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers, William David "Billy" Peoples and an infant brother. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Fortuna Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church with Rev. Brad Homan and Peggy Richardson officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Olive Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Olive Branch Church. Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.
