Jewell May Goodall, 94, formerly of Jefferson City, peacefully passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at her daughters home in Kansas City. She was born January 21, 1926 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Martha Volkmar Muck and Oscar Muck. She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1944. She then went to work at the State Employment Security and the Research Division of the State Department of Education in the capitol building. She was the first President of the Nu Phi Mu business sorority. She married Warren Goodall of Jefferson City in June, 1949. She worked at the MFA Insurance Company in Columbia until Warren graduated from the University of Missouri. They then moved to St. Joseph Missouri and lived there for six years. During this time their two children were born, Martha Anne Goodall and Daniel Warren Goodall. They were active in the Huffman Memorial Methodist Church and Jewell participated in many musical activities in the community. In 1960, they moved to Independence and Jewell was involved with all the usual things of school and church. She was active with Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts and helped set up a library at Chapel Elementary School. Jewell also served as the administrative assistant of the adoption unit for the Heart of America Family Services. She and her husband brought back five infants from Korea and placed them for adoption. She and Warren celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1999, their 60th wedding anniversary in 2009, and were married 65 years just before Warren passed away in 2014. Her family was very important to her and she loved her family, friends, country and God very much. Those surviving to mourn her death include her daughter, Martha Anne Goodall; son, Daniel Warren Goodall and his wife Lori; three grandsons, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Justin, Jeffrey's wife, Katie; a sister-in-law; Juanita Heinrich Muck; a niece and many nephews. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 11:00 - 11:40 a.m. at the Houser Millard Family Funeral Directors with Funeral Services beginning at 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Jewell's honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
