Bill E. Duncan

Mr. Bill E. Duncan, age 89 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on November 23, 1931, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Herbert E. and Mamie (Kroger) Duncan. He was married on November 8, 1968, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Myrene Bogg Englehart and he inherited six Englehart children. A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Bill was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson City High School. After high school, Bill enlisted into the United States Military in the Marine Corps. In 1951, he was honorable discharged. He then joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol Training division, while continuing his education at the University of Missouri, majoring in Law Enforcement. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1976, with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Criminal Justice Administration. Bill then served as the Director of the Sheriff's Association and the Director of Veteran's Affairs. In 1980, Bill began his employment with the Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Board and retired in 1991. Bill enjoyed a long and fulfilled life that centered around his family. We have always said, "There will be stars in his crown for marrying a lady with six children!" He loved to golf and was a member of Meadow Lake Country Club. He also loved to hunt, fish, play guitar and dance. He enjoyed spending time at the summer home at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing trips to Lake Taneycomo, traveling throughout the U. S. and Europe. Survivors include: his loving wife of 52 years, Myrene; children: Lea Englehart Morris (David) of Melbourne Beach, Fla., David Englehart (Jodi) of St. Peters, Mo., Neal Englehart (Debbie) of Ashland, Mo., Paul Englehart of Jefferson City, Mo., Diann Englehart Bax Goins (John) of Camdenton, Mo., and Julie Englehart Distler Carey (Pat) of Jefferson City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. A private family gathering and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
