Diane Southerlin

Diane Southerlin, 63, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at her home. She was born on April 14, 1957 in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Harold and Agnes (Strope) Porth. She was united in marriage to Barry Southerlin on June 10, 1978, at St. Peter Catholic Church. She was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson City High School and went on to earn an associate's degree from Lincoln University. For 35 years she faithfully worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue. Through the years she and Barry had many fun adventures and family events, to include shopping and going on short trips with her girlfriends and spending time with her son, Chris. She loved flowers and gardens. Diane loved going to concerts, recording music and occasionally when Barry would play. Her faith sustained her through a 16-year battle with cancer but she has now been set free and is at peace in her heavenly home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Christopher Southerlin (GiGi); brothers: John Porth (Leslie) and Chuck Porth (Debbie); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Prayer Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with private family interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy may be made the Goldschmidt Cancer Center.
