Norma "Jean" Nichols, 90, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Valley Park Residential Care Center in Holts Summit. She was born on May 23, 1930, the daughter of Clarence "Shorty" and Bertha (Nichols) Case. She married Henry R. Nichols on March 13, 1947. She is survived by her daughters: Beverly Heppermann (husband Norbert), Janice Cartmill (husband Jonathan); son: Ronald Nichols (wife Elizabeth); six grandc05-23-30hildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married for 71 years, and her four sisters and four brothers. The youngest of nine children, Jean enjoyed sewing, baking, crafts and the love and company of her family and friends. Always giving of herself, she made crafts for friends and family until just weeks before her passing. Even while she neared the end of her beautiful life, she expressed her intentions to make more craft projects for her ever-growing list of friends. Throughout her life, Jean nurtured and cared for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a tender and giving heart. To those who knew her, she was love personified. Jean regularly attended church while she was able and read the Bible daily. She loved as Jesus loved. Cared as Jesus cared. Jean's family is so very grateful to the caregivers at Valley Park Retirement Center and Compassus Hospice for their loving care. You are angels walking among us and mom loved each of you. As she once held her family in her arms, Jean is now in the arms of her Lord, joining Henry, and her other family members and friends in heaven. And while we mourn the loss of our sweet, sweet Jean here on earth, heaven is rejoicing - because with the addition of her loving presence, it has become even more beautiful than it has ever been. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hartsburg.
