Anna E. Renterghem

Anna E. Renterghem, 96, of Jefferson City, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 9, 2020, at Adams Street Place due to complications of Covid-19. She was born on November 16, 1923, in Frankenstein, Missouri, a daughter of the late Paul and Martina (Haslag) Gentges. Anna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ralph Renterghem, on November 14, 1945. Anna attended the Catholic schools in Frankenstein. Ralph and Anna operated their dairy on the family farm in Osage Bend. Anna was a lifelong member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend. She was a member of the Ladies' Sodality, Quilting Circle and Prayer Line. Anna had a special touch with flowers and plants. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful tea roses. Anna was an exceptional cook especially when it came to her homemade bread, pastries and fried chicken. Anna is survived by her daughters: Elaine Leslie of Holts Summit, Imogene Raithel (Steve) of Osage Bend and Vickie Olive (Michael) of Columbia; brothers: Edward Gentges (Virginia), Arthur "Sonny" Gentges (Paulene) and Bernard Gentges; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Gentges; brother-in-law: Jim Werdenhausen; grandchildren: Daniel Leslie (Dana), Jason Leslie (Jennifer), Brandy Bryant (Bob), Jodi Snider (Dave), Cody Raithel (Missy) and Angela Falls; 15 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. Anna was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph; son-in-law: Joe Leslie; brothers and sisters-in-law: Henry and Tessie Gentges, Martin and Mary Ann Gentges; and sisters and brother-in-law: Bernadine Voss (Louis), Josephine Werdenhausen and Gertie Gentges. The family will be holding a private service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Quilting Circle of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend.
