Marian Gill, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Oak Tree Villas. She was born on March 27, 1930, in Cedar City; the daughter of Henry "Alvin" and Hazel (Bugbee) Tranbarger. She was united in marriage on May 21, 1949, to Kenneth Gill, in Fulton, Missouri. Marian was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She and her graduating classmates stayed close throughout the years and often went to lunch together. She was employed with MOSERS for over 30 years until her retirement in 1992. Marian was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She and Kenneth had a supper and card group that gathered to play Pinochle for over 40 years. They were avid fans of the Jefferson City Jay football teams and attended both home and away games for over 50 years. The family had many get-togethers after both Jay and Mizzou games. Marian enjoyed cooking and shopping for her family, especially the grandkids. It was those moments in life with family that she cherished the most. She is survived by her sons: Steve Gill (Karen) and Donald Gill (Lisa), both of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Chris Gill (Samantha) of Branson, Wes Gill (Amanda) of Williamsburg, Tanner Gill of Jefferson City and Callie Gill of Jefferson City; step-grandchildren: Emily Kolb of St. Louis, Olivia Kolb of Jefferson City and Ethan Kolb of Columbia; and great-grandchildren: Ava and Shea. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and daughter-in-law: Michelle Gill. Private family services will be held with interment in Riverview Cemetery.
