Floyd Allen Masek

Floyd Allen Masek, 95, of Reform, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Fulton Manor. He was born in Castina, Iowa on January 14, 1925, the son of the late Rudolph and Mae (Rose) Masek. Floyd was married to Virginia (Hopper) Masek for more than 20 years, and later to Berniece Dillon Masek for more than 20 years. Floyd often said he was the third generation to attend Reform School. He farmed until he sold his farm in Reform to Ameren and moved to Mokane. After selling his farm, he was employed at Fulton State Hospital for many years until his retirement. Floyd was a charter member of Reform Baptist Church and taught many children in Sunday School classes. Floyd was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and often went to games with his son and grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing baseball and helped with the Mokane Lion's ball field. Floyd was an avid hunter and expert mushroom hunter. Floyd is survived by children, Don Masek (Phyllis), Raymond Masek, Nancy Stephan (Greg); grandchildren, Eliot Masek (Melissa) Brant Masek (Hannah), Kelsey Javier (Christopher), Natasha Milligan; Amanda Masek, Manley Masek, Sara Niemeier (Brent), Sam Stephan (Betsy), and Ben Stephan; step-grandchildren, Jamie Oestreich (Drew), and Dak Dillon; and great-grandchildren, William and Charles Masek, Jane and Elizabeth Janvier, Landon and Lydia Niemeier, and Lyla and Madelyn Stephan; and step-great-granddaughter, Collins Oestreich. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ralph Masek; daughter, Peggy Milligan; step-son, Jim Dillon; and his siblings. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Lewis Curtis officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mokane Cemetery.
