Scott W. Bledsoe, 59, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his residence from natural causes. He was born on January 17, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of the late C. Charles Bledsoe and Doris Jean Kloeppel Bledsoe. Scott was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was an excellent trumpet player and played at numerous sporting events and military funerals. Scott served as band manager his senior year. He attended New Mexico State University where he majored in computer science and was in the marching band. Scott was previously employed with the State of Missouri and also did computer work from home. He had worked for Pathways Community Health Center, Ikon, and Kinko's. Scott was mainly known from Westgate Lanes, where he worked as night manager from 1979 to 1992, where he was also an avid bowler. Scott was active in the Jefferson City Jaycees for six years and held the positions of Public Relations Officer and Local Director. He chaired several Bowl-A-Thons to raise money for Wonderland Camp. Scott currently served as a special events volunteer for the Lake Ozark Dream Factory. Scott was a hard-core Cardinal baseball fan. He looked forward all winter to April 1st when the season started. If he couldn't get it on TV, he enjoyed listening to it on the radio. Scott was a wiz at crossword puzzles and enjoyed reading, music and computer games. Scott is survived by his mother and step-father: Doris and Larry Niepert of Lake Ozark; sister: Beth Ann Hampton of Fruitland Park, Florida; nephew: Christopher (Katie) Hampton of USAF Hill AFB, Utah; step-brother: Jeff (Shelley) Niepert and step-sister: Linda Gutterman, both of Collinsville, Illinois; step- sister: Penny (Hugie) Cunningham of St. Jacob, Illinois; step- niece: Danielle Niepert of Springfield; aunts, an uncle, numerous cousins and his beloved cat: Saki. He was preceded in death by his father; brother: Michael C. Bledsoe; step-sister: Lori Stubban; step-brother-in-law: Scott Gutterman; maternal grandparents: David and Dora Kloeppel; and paternal grandparents: Fred and Maude Bledsoe. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with a Celebration of Scott's life at 1:00 p.m. The family invites everyone who attends to wear their Cardinal attire, if they desire, as dress is casual. Inurnment for Scott and his brother, Michael, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Lane Cemetery in Osage County.
