Doris Wittenberger

Doris Wittenberger, 89, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020. Doris was born on September 5, 1930, in Splice Creek, Mo., the daughter of George Oerly and Virginia (Stevens) Oerly, both whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 9, 1948, to Eugene Wittenberger at the Moniteau Advent Church in Jamestown, Mo. Eugene preceded her in death on November 30, 1984. Doris was a homemaker / farmer's wife and dressmaker/designer. She was a 1948 graduate of Prairie Home High School. Survivors include two daughters Phyllis Miller of Russellville, Mo. and Evelyn Wingate (Gary) of Cornelius, N.C.; one brother, Dean Oerly (Marie) of Boonville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kristen Wingate (Brian Hauser), Kevin Wingate (Kristen), Patrick Miller (VanDee), Nathan Miller (Beth) and Rebecca Miller (Daryl Mathies). Doris was also blessed with nine great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Don Oerly (Marjorie); and son-in-law, Dr. Earl D. Miller. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery, 59349 Moniteau Church Road, Jamestown, MO. 65046. Officiating will be Rev. Russell Cobb. Memorials are suggested to the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery or Hospice Compassus c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St. California, MO.
