Corey Joseph Bax, 30, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was born on April 10, 1990, a son of Kent and Kelley (Kolb) Bax. Corey was a 2008 graduate of Helias High School and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri in 2013. He was a member of the Delta Upsilon (DU) fraternity and loved his fraternity brothers and the memories they made together. Corey's true love was baseball and he was passionate about Helias baseball as a player and as a coach. Corey was most proud of his American Legion Post 5 team that won the state championship two years in a row. He loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues Hockey (Gloria!Gloria!). He is survived by his parents: Kent and Kelley Bax; brothers: Adam Bax (Claire Pearson) and Logan Bax; son: Louie; paternal grandfather: Harold Bax; maternal grandparents: Norb and Shirley Kolb; aunts: Rebecca Imhoff (Jon-godfather), Shelly Bax, Rene Maxey (Tom McHenry), Kristy Gump-godmother (J.) and Roxane Sargent (Marty); uncles: Mark Kolb (Donna), Greg Kolb (Diane) and Clyde Maxey; and a host of cousins and friends. Corey was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Mary Lou Bax. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Wardsville Lions Club at 3505 Rt. M, Jefferson City, MO 65101 with memorial service beginning at 5 p.m. A Celebration of Corey's Life will be held at the family's home after the visitation at 1303 Mehmert Place, Jefferson City, MO 65101. The family has asked that anyone attending his visitation to please wear their favorite jersey or sports team apparel. Interment will be private for the family on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the family for a charity of their choice.
