Roger Martin

Roger Martin, age 66, passed away peacefully after fighting lung cancer on Thursday. May 28, 2020, at Parkview Rehabilitation Center in the Vitas Hospice Wing, Winter Park, Fla., just 48 hours after his wife Carey passed away. He was born August 11, 1953, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Edward and Madeline (Stegeman) Martin. He attended Jefferson City High, Jefferson City, Mo. Roger married Carey on November 6, 1998. He retired from Jefferson City School System after 23 years of service. He lived in Jefferson City, Mo. all his life until he moved to Sanford, Florida two years ago. He is survived by his daughter, Isabella Hodge, Hudson, Fla.; three step-daughters, Stacy (Kelly) Sutherland-Hodge, Sanford, Fla., Karin Hodge, Hudson, Fla., Miranda Hodge Maher, Dunedin, Fla.; three granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Candice, and Riley; a sister, Mary Martin (John) Williams, Jefferson City, Mo.; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Martin and his wife Pam; and two infant brothers. In honor of Roger and Carey's love for each other their ashes will be swirled together for eternity in glass art pieces and/or jewelry for each of Roger's daughter, step-daughters, and granddaughters. He will always be in our hearts.
