Sandra "Sandy" S. Distler, 79, of New London, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal, Mo. Sandra was born November 22, 1940, in Centertown, Misosuri to Bill Higgins and Fanchon Hutchison Higgins. She was married to Jerry Distler on October 14, 1967, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Jefferson City, MO. He survives. Professionally, Sandy worked as a bookkeeper for Superior Heating and Air Conditioning for over 20 years. Sandy loved shopping, dining out, watching the Hallmark Channel and arranging flowers. She most enjoyed the times she spent with her family and visiting her kids. Sandy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, Mo. Other survivors include two daughters, Tammy Lynn Fowler (Richard) of Center, Mo. and Wendy Nichols (Matt) of New London, Mo.; four grandchildren, Bri Parkins (Dan), Zach Nichols, Alex Nichols and Hannah Nichols and three great- grandchildren, Gray, Vivienne and Vale. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Hannibal, Mo. There will be no visitation. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice. Pallbearers will be Donald Distler, Terry Volkart, Bob Anderson, Matt Nichols, Zach Nichols and Dan Parkins.
