Rose Marie McComack

June 7, 2020

Rose Marie McComack, age 87, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Westphalia Hills. She was born on July 21, 1932 in Crystal City, Mo., the daughter of Albert and Eupfreshia (Carr) Martinez. She was married on July 2, 1949 in Crystal City, Mo. to Orville Clifton McComack, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2007. Rose spent a large majority of her life in the Crystal City area before relocating to Jefferson City over 15 years ago in order to spend more time with family. She felt her most important job in life was to be a homemaker, a wife, a mother, and caretaker of the many family pets she cherished throughout her lifetime. Rose valued the time she was able to spend taking care of her mother in her home during her final years. She also took special care of her husband and sister before their passing. Rose enjoyed crocheting and sewing; she always had a craft project in the works when her hands allowed her to. She was always passionate about keeping her home neat and tidy. She had a strong personality, at times, and would voice her opinions frequently. However, she was genuine and always ready to help anyone who needed her. Most notably, Rose was an animal lover, especially for her girls: Lily and Jenny. These Yorkies were truly the loves of her life. She also had a love for Coca-Cola; this was a must have in her life. In most recent years, Rose loved her visits with her grandchildren; she was very fond of the many memories created while spending time with the family she loved. She appreciated visits from friends and neighbors as well. Survivors include: one son, Gary McComack (wife Lori) of DeSoto, Mo.; one son-in-law, Larry Hoffman of Russellville, Mo.; one brother, Tom Martinez of Bolivar, Mo.; five grandchildren, Nicky Bonnot (husband Mike), Larry Hoffman (wife Amanda), Travis McComack, Brent McComack, Cory McComack, and Tracy McComack; and great-grandchildren, Brandi, Brandon, and Noah; special friends and neighbors, Keith Smith (wife Debbie) and Tom Schwehn (wife Sondra). She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 57 years, Orville; her daughter, Vicky Hoffman in 2012; and one sister, JoAnn Pulliam in 2005. A visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Freeman Chapel with celebrant Gara Loskill officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Mo. A webcast of the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday June 13, 2020 for friends that are not able to attend by going to her memorial page on Freeman Mortuary's website. Friends may mail sympathy cards to the funeral home or leave condolences online to be given to her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. www.freemanmortuary.com
