Jerry Michael "Mike" Wekenborg

Jerry Michael "Mike" Wekenborg, 73, of Tebbetts, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1947, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late James Herman and Virginia Lee (Coffelt) Wekenborg. He was a 1965 graduate of WT Woodson High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lincoln University. Mike served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage on June 27, 1967, in Jefferson City, to Lola Kay Miller who survives at the home. Mike worked for the Missouri State Personnel Division, Fulton State Hospital, Missouri Veterans Commission, and was a life-long farmer. Survivors include his wife, Lola Wekenborg, Tebbetts; two children, Derek (Hannah) Wekenborg, Tebbetts; Becky (Dan) Foster, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Ali Snellen, Gabriel Wekenborg; and three siblings, Jimmy (Alberta) Wekenborg, New Bloomfield; Tom Wekenborg, Holts Summit; and Julie (Bill) Cook, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Gail Wekenborg; and a nephew, Tommy Wekenborg. Private graveside service will be held Friday, June 5, 2020, at Middle River Cemetery near Tebbetts with Pastor Tom Vansant officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Middle River Cemetery Association. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City is in charge of the arrangements.
