Gary L. Gretlein

Gary L. Gretlein, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Jefferson City, a son of the late Henry and Allene (Schubert) Gretlein. He was a 1962 graduate of Eugene High School and went on to attend Lincoln University. Gary had a great love of sports but excelled at basketball and later on he enjoyed playing golf. He was very philanthropic and active in his church, Trinity Lutheran. Gary loved his beautiful granddaughters and his little pup, Maggie. His presence will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his children: Kim Ellison (Jeff) of Jefferson City, Gary Kyle Gretlein (Sara) of Jefferson City, and Kelly Gretlein of Tebbetts; sisters: Arleta Hildebrand of Jefferson City and Bernice Barker, also of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Rachel, Hannah and Emma. Gary was preceded in death by his second wife: Linda Gretlein; and siblings: H.G. Gretlein II, Ruby Tremain, and J. Donald Gretlein. Services will be private for the family.
