Larry Gene "Pops" McDaniel Sr., 72, of Eugene, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born November 30, 1947, in Jefferson City, the son of Edward Paul and Elizabeth Margret (Albin) McDaniel. He was a 1965 graduate of Russellville High School. After high school, Larry joined the United States Army serving during the Vietnam era. He was married in 1970 to Dianna Rose Elizabeth Libbert who survives in Grant City, Missouri. On January 13, 1979, in Russellville, he married Mary Elizabeth Humphrey who preceded him in death on April 18, 2014. On December 22, 2017, he married Glenda Lou Scott who survives at the home. Larry worked as a semi-truck driver, auto mechanic, bus driver, and in construction as a foreman. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and enjoyed motorcycles, going to Flea Markets, and traveling to different auto and motorcycle shows. Survivors include his wife, Glenda McDaniel, Eugene; four children, Debbie (Marvin) Evers, New Bloomfield; Margaret (Rodney) Garrison, Russellville; Lisa (Cory) Shepherd, Russellville; Larry "L.J." McDaniel Jr., Eugene; two step-children, Tonia Greolgin, Wyoming; Tonia Stufflebeam, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle and aunt who help to raise him, Robert and Gertrude Goldammer. Services and military honors will be held at Eugene Cemetery at a later date. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
