Jerome H. Koerber

Jerome H. Koerber, 92, Overland, Mo., fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was born December 23, 1927 at Meta, Missouri, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Linnenbrink) Koerber. On November 27, 1947, he was united in marriage at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta to Phyllis P. Gray, who preceded him in death on May 23, 2014. Mr. Koerber was a barber for more than 50 years. Survivors include five children: Jacqueline (Mark) Witte, Eureka; David (Christine) Koerber, St. Louis; Sandra Felt, St. Charles; Mary (Tom) Grubbs, Overland; and Lisa (Mark) Thornton, Villa Ridge; six grandchildren: David (Julie) Koerber, Lauren (Tom) Ream, Tim (Andrea) Koerber, Adam (Tara) Felt, Sarah (David) Ivinson, Rebecca (Louis) Leake; and 11 great-grandchildren: Mark, Zachary, Samuel, Joshua, Rosalie, Kaylea, Tallis, Aubrey, Tommy, Raelyne, Luella; a sister-in-law, Jean (Bernard) Schanzmeyer, Jefferson City; a brother-in-law, James "Bud" (Joan) Gray, Salem, Mo.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Marie (Raymond) Borgmeyer, Mildred (Andrew) Bielecki and Edward (Virginia) Koerber; and a great-grandchild, Brynley. He was also preceded by sisters-in-law: Margie (Dorsey) Roberds, Lois (Bill) Allen, Dorothy (Cecil) Taylor, and Donna (Don) Schaefferkoetter. Private services were held April 16 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Wildwood, Mo., under the direction of Ortmann Funeral Home, 9222 Lackland, Overland, Mo. A celebration of Jerome's life is planned for a later date.
