Jean Anderson, 62, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at her residence. She was born December 13, 1957, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Alvin John and Imogene Beatrice McDermott Overmann. She was married on July 28, 1978, in St. Louis to William Jeffrey Anderson, who survives at the home. A 1977 graduate of Rosary High School in St. Louis, Mrs. Anderson was employed as a preschool teacher in Early Childhood Development for many years. Her greatest love was working with children, especially young children. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church where she helped with the knitted prayer shawls program. She was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross for nearly 10 years. She also served in many capacities in all of her children's activities. She was passionate about helping people and organizations and would often donate her time to a variety of community causes. Other survivors include two children, Michael (Shawna) Anderson, Knoxville, Tennessee; and Rebecca (Ryan) Estes, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Trevor Anderson, Avery Anderson, and Marietta Estes; and five siblings, Jeannette Froelich, Nancee Overmann, Rosemary Overmann, and Joan (William) Halaz, all of St. Louis; and Sr. Katherine Overmann, DC, of Chicago. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Fowler. Private family services will be held at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Service times will be announced in the News Tribune and on the funeral home's website when scheduled. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
